2026 Smartphones: Latest Releases and Upcoming Launches

2026 smartphones have already brought some of the most talked about releases in recent years. From flagship upgrades to foldables and ambitious concept devices, manufacturers have come out with some of their most interesting releases in recent memory. This post covers every major phone that has launched so far this year, along with the confirmed devices still on the way before 2026 wraps up. The list will be updated as new announcements and releases come in.

Phones Already Released in 2026

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung opened the year with the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra. The series was announced on February 25, 2026, and went on sale from March 11, 2026.

Depending on the region, the phones run on either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy or the Exynos 2600 chipset. The S26 Ultra is the headline device of the lineup, arriving with a 320MP main sensor and a slimmer titanium frame compared to its predecessor.

Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra

Xiaomi made its global debut at MWC 2026 on February 28, 2026, with the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra.

The Ultra is the standout model. It carries forward the Leica partnership and introduces a new dual-aperture 1-inch sensor, giving users more control over depth and light. The phone also supports 120W wireless charging, which remains one of the fastest in the industry.

Google Pixel 10a

Google launched the Pixel 10a earlier than expected this year. It was announced on February 18, 2026, and released on March 5, 2026.

The phone runs on the Tensor G4 chip, the same processor found in the Pixel 10 series. One of its more notable additions is the Magic Editor AI suite, which Google has now brought down to the budget segment for the first time. The Pixel 10a is available in four colors: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender.

Infinix Note 60 Series

The Infinix Note 60 Series was announced on February 18, 2026, with a lineup that covers multiple price points.

The standard Note 60 and Note 60 Pro both come with a 144Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, and a 6,500mAh battery. Infinix followed up in March 2026 with a higher-end Ultra model, rounding out the series for users who want more performance without moving to a flagship price.

Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro

Nothing released the Phone (4a) and its Pro variant on March 5, 2026.

Both models feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,400mAh battery. The phones run on Nothing OS 4.1 and are available in black, white, pink, yellow, and blue. Nothing has built a reputation for clean design and this release continues that direction at a more accessible price point.

Honor Magic V6

Honor announced the Magic V6 on March 1, 2026, at MWC in Barcelona, one day before the official opening of the event.

It is a book-style foldable running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The device measures 8.75mm thin and carries a 6,600mAh battery, with some models reported to pack up to 7,150mAh capacity. Honor has also worked on reducing the hinge crease, a long-standing complaint with foldable phones across the board.

The Magic V6 went on sale in China on March 13, 2026. International availability in select markets is scheduled for the second half of 2026.

Phones Coming Later in 2026

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8

Samsung’s next foldable lineup is expected to arrive in July 2026, likely at a Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Z Fold 8 has attracted attention because of one specific rumor: a built-in S Pen slot. If confirmed, this would be a first for the Fold series and a significant upgrade for users who have always wanted stylus support without carrying a separate case. No official specs have been confirmed yet, but Samsung’s foldable releases have been consistent enough that a July window is widely expected.

Apple iPhone 18 Series

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026, following the annual release cycle the company has maintained for years.

Leaks and early reports have begun circulating, though nothing has been officially confirmed by Apple. The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to lead the lineup as usual. More details will emerge as the year progresses.

Google Pixel 11 Series

The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro are expected to launch in August or October 2026, with some reports pointing toward a possible Pixel 11 Pro XL and a foldable variant as well.

Google has maintained a consistent annual schedule for its flagship Pixel phones, and the Pixel 11 series is expected to follow that same pattern. Specific specs have not been confirmed, but early case renders have already surfaced, suggesting the Pro XL may carry a similar design language to the Pixel 10 Pro.

Tecno Atom (Modular Concept)

This one sits in a category of its own. Tecno unveiled the Atom at MWC 2026 in March, and it is unlike anything the brand has shown before.

The Atom is an ultra-slim phone measuring between 4.6mm and 4.9mm thick. What makes it different is its modular design. Using magnetic connectors built on what Tecno calls “Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology,” the phone is designed to accept snap-on accessories including a 200MP external camera lens, an extra battery pack, and specialized gaming speakers. It is also a portless device, meaning all connectivity runs through those magnetic connectors.

It is worth being clear about what the Atom is at this stage. Tecno presented it as a working prototype and a concept platform, not a finished retail product. A limited release is projected for mid 2026, but that has not been officially confirmed. The concept is exciting and the engineering behind it is ambitious. If Tecno follows through, it could be one of the more interesting hardware stories of the year. For now, it is one to watch closely and not yet plan a purchase around.

What to Expect for the Rest of 2026

The second half of the year is shaping up to be just as active as the first. The iPhone 18 and Pixel 11 series will drive most of the conversation later in the year, while Samsung’s foldable lineup will likely dominate July. Mid-range releases from brands like Infinix, Tecno, and Nothing are also expected to continue, giving buyers at every price point something to look forward to.

This post will be updated as official announcements come in. If a phone you are watching is not on this list yet, check back as the year progresses.
